A Snapshot of Some Gladstone Family Favourites

Tondoon Botanic Gardens

The Tondoon Botanic Gardens on Glenlyon Road includes fantastic facilities such as walking trails (most allowing pram and stroller access), birdlife, picnic spots and a playground. The gardens are like a magic spot for the young and for the young at heart. Around the gardens, you will notice the Hidden Garden game (download as an App on your iPhone) for your children so they can learn more about the environment.

Spinnaker Park (off Alf O’Rourke Drive)

Meet with friends and take a picnic or barbecue to the park and enjoy the views of the water.  The two and a half kilometres of walking tracks allow plenty of space for a side-by-side chat with your friends while you push a pram or stroller and there is also room for the kids to ride their scooters.

East Shores Precinct (along Flinders Parade)
Kids can play safely in the recently developed water playground. As well as the water park, there is a playground and plenty of wide open spaces for picnics. Adults have even been known to play in the water with their kids!

BAM (Beach, Arts, Music), Millennium Esplanade, Tanium Sands

On the first Saturday of the month (excluding storm season months), the markets feature unique and special items for sale that suit babies and children, including toys and clothes and so many other gift ideas.  BAM is a wonderful event for the entire family where you can sit down and enjoy some food and live entertainment. There is plenty of room for prams and the Tanium Sands foreshore offers a state of the art playground.  For more details visit beachartsmusic.com.au

Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum (Goondoon Street)
To help your kids appreciate art and history at a young age, stop in at the museum and art gallery. If your baby likes a pram, this will give you and them a relaxing environment to experience some culture together. Your baby will love the colours of various art exhibitions that come to Gladstone throughout the year, and you will be inspired by an array of artwork from various artists from around Australia (including local artists).
